THE NATIONAL LITURGICAL
DANCE NETWORK
was founded in 1998 in New
York
by
Rev Eyesha Marable in an effort to help dance ministries function effectively within their church, best witness to people through dance, and to edify God’s kingdom by enhancing the praise and worship experience for the church universal. Its objective is to transform artists into worshippers that can usher in the presence of the Lord, function effectively within order of ministry at their respective churches; and direct a group with authority, compassion, excellence, confidence, skill and commitment. In order to safeguard and uphold the integrity of dance in praise and worship, it is necessary that we identify and share the best practices amongst each other. The Network is designed to foster unity in the body of Christ amongst praise and worshipers of all races and denominations.
More than 1,200 Christian choreographers, directors and dance ministry leaders have joined the Network to nurture fellowship among dance ministries, receive and offer practical training and counsel. Members share, encourage, motivate and pray for each other as they work together for one common goal, which is to praise God through the dance. The Network provides on-going technical and spiritual training, counsel, support and resources for dance ministers that will help them continually mature as leaders in their respective churches.
The Network has 20 chapters in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Each chapter hosts various activities including: technique classes, meetings, conferences and celebrations to promote fun, fellowship and fulfilling spiritual feedings. They also minister as one body in Christ throughout the country.
