THE FRAGRANCE OF A TRUE ANOINTING
“Now thanks be unto God who always leads us to triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other of life leading to life.” (II Cor. 2-14-16)
ONE WHO POSSESSES THE FRAGRANCE OF A TRUE ANOINTING IS
· Purified by fire, able to maintain a holy stance even in fiery circumstances
· Disciplined, dedicated, and demonstrates total obedience to the Word of God
· Sacrificially devoted to God, and embraces the process of death to his own will
· Genuinely humble, and contrite in Spirit.
· Pure in heart, motive and deed
· Reverent in worship
· Able to stand in seasons of drought and opposition
· Fruitful by demonstrating real love for God and others
· A yielded vessel for the Holy Spirit to flow through freely to bless others
· Protects the sacredness of the Holy Spirit within them
· Understands they are set apart specifically for the Lord’s use and service
· Endures the press of “life” toward spiritual maturity
· Understands the cost and the process of the holy anointing oil
· An authentic unique formulation not to be duplicated
· Sanctified, holy, precious; a vessel of honor therefore deemed useful to God
The Holy Spirit then dwells in you to empower you for the work of the ministry.
He sanctifies “God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.” (II Thess. 2:13)
He transforms you into the Character of God “…with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed in the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Cor. 3:18)
He strengthens your inner man “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” (Eph. 3:16) He builds by praying through you “Building yourselves up in the most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” (Jude 1:20) He gives you power “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.” (Acts 1:8) “Be strengthened with might though His Spirit.” (Eph. 3:16) He matures you to love though tribulation “Tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope and hope does disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.” (Romans 5:3-4) He leads us into all truth “We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.” (1 Cor. 2:12-13)
